The North Bus Transport company, began its activities more than 50 years ago, when it begins to provide services in the city of Puerto Montt making its route between P. Montt, Los Muermos, Maullin. Its name is due to the fact that very early in the middle of 1967-1968 it added services to Osorno with intermediate points of Huellusca, Cruise, Tegualda, Purranque and other points of frequent destinations in the region.
The destinations that the company began to develop, towards points north of the city of P. Montt, was what finally gave it the name of North Bus (bus that goes to the north) Later on May 14, 1969 begins its international tour to Argentina (San Carlos de Bariloche).
Legally the company acquires its current name 37 years ago, when its founder Don Osvaldo Cid Moraga, in the company of his children Juan, Hugo, René, Héctor and Ana Maria Cid, begins the formation of the company already mentioned on November 12, 1970, initially the services that it presented included the transfer of passengers in the province of Osorno and its provincial capital, over the years the service extended to other cities to the south Puerto Montt and north to Valdivia, La Unión Río Good.
The good results continued accompanied the management of the firm, finally causing the services to be extended to Valparaíso, Santiago thus becoming one of the main passenger transport lines nationwide. Then in 1982, they started their services to Punta Arenas, using the route of San Carlos de Bariloche, under the name Chile-Chile.a had with Mr. Cid, with a view to acquiring the company what they subsequently take held conversations with the heirs (widow and daughter) achieving a sales agreement.
The new administration begins in April 2001, where the company was in decline and on the verge of bankruptcy, the new policies and administrative management gave results allowing to quickly amortize debts and think about the acquisition of new units. The year 2004 North Bus is one of the first companies in the country to incorporate double-floor machines. At the end of 2005, it makes an effort to incorporate technology to help administrative management, which translates into computerization of online sales, in 2006 Bus Norte is the first company in Chile to incorporate on-board internet system to its passengers through 3G technology.
